A Family Affair

For Hayes, Wychmere is a place close to his heart—his brother, Jimmy, was also married in our Harbor Room venue in 2018. We’re so happy to have been a part of past and new memories for the Hayes family and provide a place of comfort and joy.
“It was special to us in that sense,” Vasilyev told People about the wedding. “Jimmy had gotten married in the original room, called the Harbor Room, and we looked at that room and then we looked at the new [venue space] called the Dune. It could not be more perfect.”
Best of Both Worlds
Who says you can’t have it all? The happy couple was able to live out every one of their wedding dreams despite varying themes. Vasilyev, who is of Russian Orthodox descent, was able to fulfill her mother’s wishes by having their first ceremony in a Russian church in Boston. To complete their marriage, they had their second ceremony here at Wychmere, where all their closest friends and family gathered for a full night of celebration.
While Hayes and Vasilyev chose to hold their wedding at Wychmere, just like Hayes’ brother, they opted for the modern Dune venue rather than the Harbor Room to hold true to their personal styles. While Harbor Room encapsulates a classic New England style—with white plank walls, driftwood floors, a dreamy white-washed color palette, sailcloth drapes, and wrap-around sliding glass walls—Dune, while surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Cod, offers the perfect blend of modern sophistication and formal elegance.
Seaside Sophistication: A Dream Beach Wedding
Dune is an awe-inspiring two-story world of its own surrounded by panoramic ocean views and crowned with an expansive rooftop terrace. The transitional space boasts an unrivaled picturesque backdrop with neutral, soft, sand-colored palette décor, modern detailing, and refined finishes.
After a cocktail hour on the venue’s expansive rooftop terrace, the wedding party—which included an impressive lineup of St. Louis Blues NHL teammates as well as players for Hayes’ former team, the Philadelphia Flyers—danced, sang, and ate the night away surrounded by Dune’s stunning backdrop of driftwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and beautiful furnishings inside and out, with every space exquisitely arranged for endless photo ops.
It was the perfect space for everyone to jump and let loose to an epic performance by Sammy Adams, a Boston rapper and good friend of Hayes’.
Both hearts and stomachs were full that night as guests dined on short ribs, salmon, vegetable risotto, and local, homemade ice cream from Sunday School.
